Amazon Renews Secret Level for a Second Season
Amazon has confirmed a second season of the video game anthology series Secret Level is in production.
Following what Amazon says is the largest debut for a new animated series on Prime Video, the company has announced it has renewed Secret Level for another season.
The animated anthology series tells short animated stories set in different video game franchises like Armored Core, PlayStation, Warhammer 40K, and even Pac-Man. The latter of which is even getting its own tie-in video game from Bandai Namco.
Given the apparent success of the series, Amazon seems eager for more episodes. Knowing that it will likely maintain the anthology format, we're curious to find out which games will be adapted for the second season. Dark Souls, maybe? Or something left field like Dig Dug? Given the bredth of games adapted for Secret Level already, it could literally be anything.
Secret Level premiered on December 10, with the rest of the episodes from the first season arriving on December 17. The series was created by Deadpool director Tim Miller and the studio behind LOVE, DEATH + ROBOTS and featured a star-studded voice cast that includes Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ariana Greenblatt, Gabriel Luna, Laura Bailey, and more.
Our review for Secret Level was middling, saying that the episodes were too short to do justice to any of the video games the series adapts. Given that it is an anthology series, some episodes are better than others, but on the whole it couldn't keep our full interest.
