Amazon's 'No Console Required' Xbox Bundle is Discounted for Black Friday
Amazon's 'No Console Required' Xbox bundle just got a massive discount as part of the Black Friday sales.
Amazon is currently offering a ‘No Console Required’ Xbox Bundle as part of its Black Friday sale. For just $79.99, you’ll snag a 4K Max Fire TV Stick, an Xbox Wireless Controller in any color of your choosing (we've gone for the new Sky Cipher variant), and one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Separately, the items in the 4K Max bundle would set you back about $142, so you're saving $62. That’s a phenomenal deal to access Xbox’s Game Pass library without even needing a console.
If you don't need the controller or Game Pass, a Fire TV Stick 4K is also now at its lowest-ever price of $21.99. If you're eyeing an upgrade, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is also at a record-low $32.99. Both are stellar deals, but act quickly – these prices won’t last forever. Microsoft’s latest push into cloud gaming aims to make Xbox games more accessible than ever, eliminating the need for a console. All you need is a compatible Fire TV Stick, a Bluetooth-enabled controller, and an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription to start streaming. Microsoft’s ad campaigns for the new initiative have sparked debate and ridicule in equal measure, with Phil Spencer even issuing a response in an interview with Rolling Stone, saying, "It’s an interesting topic because as we look at the brand, as we’re changing the brand, [it] means something different,” Spencer said. “It literally was a box when it first launched. It was the Direct X box. What it’s grown into now is more accessibility. Xbox isn’t just one device, Xbox is on your smart TV, Xbox is on your PC, Xbox is on your phone, and we’re in the middle of that transition.”Can I Stream My Own Games?
As reported by Eurogamer this week, Microsoft has finally launched a long-awaited feature for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members: the ability to stream "select" games they already own outside the Game Pass library via Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Originally announced in 2019, the feature was intended to debut alongside Xbox Cloud Gaming (then known as Project xCloud) in 2020. After missing that target, it was re-announced for 2022 but faced further delays. As reported by The Verge, the delays were caused by the challenges of preparing the infrastructure for thousands of games.
Last month, rumors hinted the feature was close to launch, and now those reports have been confirmed. Starting today, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can stream their owned games via the cloud, though the current lineup is limited to 50 compatible games.
It’s not an extensive list just yet, but it’s a strong mix of games, blending blockbuster hits with acclaimed indies. Highlights include Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, Star Wars Outlaws, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, and Life is Strange: Double Exposure. On the indie side, there’s Balatro, Hades, Animal Well, Dredge, Phasmophobia, and The Plucky Squire.
