Apple M3 MacBook Air Is on Sale for the Lowest Price Yet for October Prime Day

In my opinion, the M3 MacBook Air (released earlier this year) is the best laptop for most people. It’s a terrific all-around computer, with plenty of power to do anything you’d probably want to do, and all-day battery life. If you have an iPhone or iPad or Apple Watch, all the better, because it works seamlessly with those devices. And right now, it’s on sale at Amazon for $849. That’s a $250 discount off MSRP, and the lowest it’s ever been. And despite it being Prime Day, you don’t even need a Prime membership to get the price. But hurry if you want one, because they’re selling out fast.

M3 MacBook Air for $849

At the time of this writing, two colors are left at this price: silver and space gray. They both look great, so there’s no worry there. The keys feel great for typing, and the trackpad is unmatched in the rest of the tech world.

The base model comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. That’s totally fine for most people, but you can bump both of those specs up (for an up-charge), and you’ll still get $250 off. It has a 1080p FaceTime HD camera with a three-mic array that makes your image and voice sound good to anyone on the receiving end of a video chat. The speakers sound way better than you might think they would, coming from such a thin machine. The keyboard has built-in TouchID for skipping password entry, and the array of apps available is basically unmatched.

I’m writing this on an M1 MacBook Air I bought in 2020 and is still running great. I kind of wish it were showing its age so I could justify buying one of these M3 MBAs at this price, but I just can’t. My previous MacBook lasted – I kid you not – 11 years as my daily driver. Say what you will about planned obsolescence, but Apple doesn’t play that game, provided you treat your devices right. If you could use a new laptop, I say pick this one up before it's gone.
