The company behind the Walk of Fame announced that Batman will be awarded the 2,790th star on September 26, though it's unclear if Batman himself will attend to give a speech. DC president and chief creative officer Jim Lee will definitely be in attendance, however.
"Fans from around the world will be thrilled to know that Batman will have his star dedicated next to the stars of television’s Batman Adam West and the co-creator of Batman Bob Kane," Hollywood Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said.
Batman obviously debuted through DC Comics but has erupted into global recognition through the aforementioned TV show and later the several films. Michael Keaton portrayed the Dark Knight in 1989 and 1992, through Batman and Batman Returns, which are often credited with establishing the new norm for superhero movies.
Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, and Ben Affleck portrayed Batman in later live action films, while Robert Pattinson is the latest Caped Crusader through his 2022 title The Batman, which is getting a sequel. Yet another Batman is due soon too, in The Brave and the Bold film in DC Studios' revamped DC Universe franchise.
Of all the stars to put on the bat mask, Keaton is the only one with a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star himself.
