Dell Outlet Has Excellent Deals on Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4080 and 4090 Gaming PCs

Dell Outlet is offering some outstanding deals on Like New (Refurbished) and Scratch & Dent Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PCs. These prices are well below what you would currently pay for a brand new system and you get the same warranty as buying new. The best deals are on Alienware desktops equipped with higher-end GPUs like the RTX 4080, 4080 Super, and 4090. These GPUs are increasingly harder to find, and with initial reports that the new RTX 5000 series might not be worth the cost for PC gamers, the RTX 4000 might still be the best Nvidia GPUs we'd recommend right now.
Dell Outlet Gaming PCs Have the Same Warranty as Buying New
Dell's certified refurbished systems are submitted to a rigorous refurbishing process. These previously owned products could have observable minor blemishes that do not affect performance, or could look as good as new. Most importantly, these PCs include the same one-year manufacturer's warrany as buying brand new.
Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 PC Deals
The RTX 4090 is the most powerful 40 series GPU. In his RTX 4090 review, Chris Coke wrote that "the RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." The 4090 is also the consumer card of choice for AI thanks to the fact that it has 24GB RAM.
A Note on RTX 5000 Series GPUs
NVIDIA's newest generation of GPUs are set to be released starting the end of January. The RTX 5090 is a more powerful card, but you'd have to be willing to pay a lot more money for that kind of power. Retail price is set to be $2,000 for the Founder's Edition at launch, but availability will definitely be an issue. The RTX 5080 will launch at a retail price of $999 but again there may be availability issues. We'll be sure to bench this card soon, but it will have less VRAM than the 4090 (16GB vs 24GB) and probably won't quite replace the 4090 as the dominant number two card.
Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4080 Super PC Deals
The GeForce RTX 4080 Super is a second generation card that supersedes the RTX 4080. It's Nvidia's second most powerful 40 series GPU and outclasses AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XTX with DLSS and ray tracing performance. In our RTX 4080 Super review, Jacqueline Thomas wrote that "if you're in the market for a 4K graphics card around $1,000, it's hard to think of any GPU that's a better purchase right now. This is the RTX 4080 that should have launched in 2022."
The 2024 Alienware "R16" Desktop Chassis Is Mostly Unchanged for 2025
The R16 is Alienware's current 2024 desktop PC design. Note that Dell announced a new Area 51 chassis during CES 2025, but it looks very similar in appearance and design to the R16 chassis. It's 40% smaller in volume compared to previous iterations and features a simple yet proven airflow pattern; air is drawn in through the side intake vents over the GPU area and a 120mm fan at the front of the case, and exhausts by way of a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. Most R16 systems are equipped with an all-in-one liquid cooler with a 240mm radiator mounted to the top of the case.
