How to Watch Creature Commandos - Where to Stream and Episode Release Schedule
All the information you need to stream the Creature Commandos show that kicks off the new DCU.
As one DC Universe ends, another begins. Superman & Lois just wrapped up its final season on The CW, marking the official end of the Arrowverse, while last year's Aquaman sequel concluded the DC Extended Universe. The new DC Studios, helmed by James Gunn and Peter Safran, has officially begun.
What’s kicking off this new era, officially titled "Chapter One: Gods and Monsters," you may ask? An animated series about a task force of monsters (not the Suicide Squad again, I promise). In his 8/10 Creature Commandos review, Tyler Robertson said the new show "introduces the new DCU with a story only James Gunn could cook up, balanced by high-energy animated action, outrageous humor, and strong, emotional character arcs."

What Is Creature Commandos About?
Creature Commandos is based on DC Comics' team of monsters that first appeared in the "Weird War Tales" series. Originally created by J. M. DeMatteis and Pat Broderick in the 1980s, the Creature Commandos also got a comic book revamp starting in 2000.
In terms of existing DCU timelines, the Creature Commandos show takes place after Peacemaker Season 1 and will likely provide some setup for next year's Superman. For clarification, Season 1 of Peacemaker was still part of the DCEU, while Season 2 (coming in 2025) is part of the soft reboot. If you couldn't tell, the Suicide Squad era is where it all starts to get a bit confusing, and even James Gunn admitted that "DC Canon" shouldn't be essential for enjoying these shared universes.
Creature Commandos Cast and Crew
Dean Lorey is the showrunner of Creature Commandos Season 1. All seven episodes were written by James Gunn based on the original DC Comics. The show stars the following voice cast:
- Indira Varma as Bride of Frankenstein
- Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot and Weasel
- Zoë Chao as Nina Mazursky
- David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein
- Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.
- Alan Tudyk as Doctor Phosphorous, Clayface, and Will Magnus
