The Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola returned in 2024 with his first movie in 13 years: Megalopolis, a "Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America." IGN's Megalopolis review awarded it a score of 9/10, calling Coppola's new movie "a frustrating madcap odyssey that gives way to something wildly unique."

Where to Stream Megalopolis Online

Megalopolis is now available to rent from digital platforms, including Prime Video.

Megalopolis will eventually be released on Starz, rather than Netflix or Disney+, followed by Peacock, given distributor Lionsgate's licensing deals.

Lionsgate has yet to announce a streaming release date for Megalopolis. Two of the distributor's most recent movies – The Strangers: Chapter One and Imaginary – had a 136- and 180-day gap between their theatrical and streaming debuts. Should the distributor follow suit here, Megalopolis would come to Starz between mid-February and late March 2025.

4K and Blu-Ray Release Date

Although the film is still in theaters, you can already preorder the 4K and Blu-ray versions of this film on Amazon. There is not yet a release date for the physical version, but you can likely expect it will fall sometime in early 2025.

Megalopolis is a Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero, the mayor's daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.
