Last Chance to Save 50% Off This Sky Cipher Xbox Controller and Fire TV Stick Bundle for Prime Day

The October Prime Day Sale is ending in a matter of hours, but there's still time to get in on one of the very few Xbox deals for Prime Day. Amazon is offering this Xbox Cloud Gaming Bundle, which includes a Sky Cipher limited edition Xbox wireless controller ($69.99), Fire TV Stick 4K Max ($59.99), and one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate ($19.99), all for only $79.99. That's basically like buying the Sky Cipher controller at retail price and paying $10 more for all of the extras. This bundle will allow you to play Game Pass games without an Xbox console.

According to Xbox Wire, the Xbox app was made available for the Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max starting July of this year. Through this app, gamers can log into their account and access games that are available through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Not every game supports Xbox Cloud Gaming, but the list includes hundreds of titles like Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Starfield, Fortnite, Mortal Kombat 11, and more.

Because you're connecting to a remote server that hosts the game itself, your Fire TV Stick isn't using any of its processing power to run the game, which is why you don't need a powerful Xbox console to play. This is an excellent low-cost alternative to console or PC gaming, however there are some conditions:

  1. You'll need to be an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber
  2. You'll need a Bluetooth controller
  3. You'll want a very fast and stable Wi-Fi connection

Which Fire TV Stick should you choose?

If you're intending to get the Fire TV Stick specifically for Xbox Cloud Gaming, I'd recommend you spend the extra $10 to get the 4K Max. It has the most powerful processor, but more importantly, it supports the Wi-Fi 6E protocol. The speed and reliability of your internet connection will directly correlate with your cloud gaming experience.

Don't have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate? It's on sale.

Note: The coupon field is at the final step of checkout right under the "Place Order" button. Do not place the order until after you have entered the coupon and see the $29.19 price.

Our favorite Game Pass deal is back and better than ever before, but not for much longer. For October Prime Day, Woot! (which is owned by Amazon) is offering three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for only $29.19 after you apply the 20% off coupon code "SAVE20". That's only $9.73 per month. Earlier this year, Microsoft raised the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to $19.99 per month, so you're basically saving over 50% off with this Prime Day deal. You don't want to hesitate, because Woot! states on their site that the 20% off coupon will end tonight at midnight CT.

Note that you can purchase multiple codes and apply them to your account, up to a maximum of 36 months, however the coupon only applies to a single digital code. Still, even if you're stacking Game Pass codes at Woot's non-coupon price of $36.49, you're saving a lot of money in the long run since you won't have to pay for each new release game.

Are October Prime Day Deals as good as Black Friday?

Although Black Friday is still the overall best time to buy just about anything every year, October Prime Day is just as good as Black Friday for many different items. You can also reference our recommendations for what to buy on Prime Day for more details. Amazon's own devices that are currently on sale likely won't go much lower in price. The same goes for most of the deals we've featured on this list, which are at some of their lowest prices of the year so far. If you are unsure whether or not you're getting a good deal on anything, you can reference specific products on the CamelCamelCamel website to see historical Amazon pricing.
