Star Wars' actor Manny Jacinto has said making Season 2 of The Acolyte is now his personal life goal.
Digital LA shared a video of Jacinto at Atlanta Dragon Con where he was asked what he wants to achieve before dying. "Season 2 of The Acolyte," he replied, to cheers from the audience.
The Disney+ show was cancelled just a month after its finale was released, following middling viewership numbers and critical reception. "The Acolyte takes us to an earlier era of Star Wars than we’ve seen on screen, with mixed results. Awkward dialogue and a small scope rob it of some of the series’ signature space magic, but these old-school Jedi are a thrill to watch in action," IGN said in our 6/10 review.

Many fans and, of course, its stars have lamented the cancellation, however. Lee Jung-Jae said he was "quite surprised" to hear it wouldn't get a second season, which creator Leslie Headland was thinking about even before Season 1 premiered.
Amanda Stenberg, meanwhile, said she wasn't shocked by the cancellation. "I'm going to be transparent and say that it's not a huge shock for me," she said. "Of course I was in the bubble of my own reality, but for those who aren't aware there's been a rampage of vitriol that we've faced since the show was even announced. When it was still just a concept and no one had even seen it.
"And that's when we started experiencing a rampage of I would say hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol. Prejudice, hatred, and hateful language toward us. And this really affected me when I first got the job, because it's not something you can fully understand what it feels like until it's happening to you."
Plenty more Star Wars is still on the way, such as the Goonies-esque space adventure Skeleton Crew and Season 2 of Ahsoka.
Some Disney+ show characters are even making the jump to the big screen, as The Mandalorian & Grogu will be the next Star Wars film to hit cinemas on May 22, 2026.
December 18, 2026 and December 17, 2027 are also locked in as the two subsequent film premiere dates, but it's unclear which of Disney's roster will fill those slots. The most likely candidate is perhaps the Daisy Ridley led film from director Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, however, in which Rey looks to rebuild the Jedi Order 15 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode 9 - The Rise of Skywalker.
Other possibilities include Mangold's film focused on the dawn of the Force or another set to be a culmination of Star Wars shows like Ahsoka and The Mandalorian from Lucasfilm's chief creative officer Dave Filoni.
Thor Ragnarok and Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi is also working on a Star Wars film, though its progress is slow and steady as it's not expected until around 2030. Star Wars: Episode 8 - The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson also has an entire trilogy of films announced, but these aren't in active development either.
Finally, Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins had a Rogue Squadron movie announced before it was cancelled due to her commitments to Wonder Woman 3. But as that film was cancelled itself, Jenkins revealed she still owed Disney a Star Wars script and thus sparked hope that Rogue Squadron was back in development.
