My Hero Academia Anime's Final Season Arrives in 2025

A year after the beloved manga ended its run in Weekly Shonen Jump, the final season of My Hero Academia will end next year. As reported by Screen Rant, this week's Shonen Jump included a pamphlet which confirmed the final season will air in 2025.

The finale was expected sooner rather than later, of course, since the manga it's adapted from wrapped in August, but this is the first confirmation of the eighth and final season's release window. A more specific date for the anime wasn't shared, and My Hero Academia's track record doesn't give much to go off either.

It and other seasonal anime arrive alongside the actual ecological seasons, meaning spring, summer, fall, and winter. My Hero Academia once arrived neatly in the spring season each year, but the last few have alternated between spring and fall.

As the ongoing Season 7 began in spring this year, that perhaps means fans can expect the final Season 8 in fall 2025, which usually begins in October, though nothing is announced yet.

My Hero Academia debuted in April 2016 and became an instant hit, telling the story of Izuku Midoriya as he navigates a school for superheroes after only just inheriting the world's most powerful abilities. Alongside the eight total seasons of anime, four films and myriad games have been released too.

In our review of the latest season's opening, IGN said: "My Hero Academia returns with a Season 7 premiere full of action, some character development, and one hell of a cool character introduction."
