Save Over 40% Off Sony's Best Noise Cancelling Wireless Headphones

Starting today, Amazon has dropped the price of the Sony WH-1000XM4 noise cancelling headphones by 43% off. It normally retails for $348, but right now you can grab one for only $198. This matches the best price we saw during Amazon Prime Day. There's a newer model out - the WH-1000XM5 - but it's currently "on sale" for $328 and certainly not worth the $130 price price premium for an incremental update. Sony's headphones are considered by many to be the best noise cancelling headphones under $400 let alone $200, beating out stiff competition like the Bose QuietComfort and the Beats Studio Pro.

The Sony WH-1000XM4 was released in 2020 and it's still one of the best noise cancelling headphones on the market. The big 40mm drivers with LCP diaphragms offer excellent sound quality with low distortion, even at high volumes. The earcups are made of a soft leatherette material that provides a proper seal around your ear for effective passive isolation. That in turn improves audio quality and also works in tandem with the Sony's QN1 HD processor to offer some of the best active noise cancellation you can get from a closed-back headphone. Ergonomics have been considered, as well. The plush earpads and padded headband means that you can wear these headphones comfortably for hours, and the earcups can be swivelled and folded up compactly for easy travel (something the newer WH1000XM5 can no longer do), Other niceties include USB Type-C charging, up to 30 hours of battery life on a single charge, Multipoint support for simultaneous Bluetooth pairing to two separate devices, clear hands-free calling, and more.
