With the Rings of Power Season 2 finale fast approaching, Amazon has released a spoiler-filled promo that teases much of what to expect from Episode 8.
Warning! Rings of Power Season 2 spoilers follow.
In the promo, which you can view in the video below, we see Galadriel on a mission to destroy Sauron, now fully revealed as The Lord of Gifts. We see Sauron’s crown used in the sword fight (we know this ends up on Sauron’s head rather than through his black heart).

Other teases of note include the miraculous recovery of Arondir after what looked like his death at the hands of Adar in Episode 7, the Balrog in the caverns beneath the Dwarven city of Khazad-dûm, the mysterious Dark Wizard using his staff to threaten Nori and Poppy with the Stranger poised to rescue them, Sauron wielding what looks like a spear or pole, which fans are already speculating will be used to bring poor Celebrimbor’s head out onto the battlefield in a graphic display of dominance, and, crucially, Elendil looking in wonderment at Narsil.
Narsil was the longsword wielded by King Elendil during the War of the Last Alliance, and used by his son, Isildur, to cut the One Ring from Sauron's hand. This is a momentous moment in The Lord of the Rings backstory, made famous by the opening battle scene in Peter Jackson’s Fellowship of the Ring. The expectation is Rings of Power eventually ends its run with this scene, which leads straight into The Lord of the Rings.
The Rings of Power Season 2 finale streams this Thursday, September 3, on Prime Video. While you wait, check out IGN's deep dive on The Battle of Eregion.
