Dell Is Also Having a Prime Day Sale on Gaming Laptops and PCs and It's Actually Really Good

Dell has once again decided to jump into the fray with its own "Prime Day" sale event. Last year, Dell's Prime Day deals on gaming laptops and PCs were actually better than the deals we saw on Amazon. This year, Dell has once again come out in front with some pretty outstanding deals on Alienware Aurora R16 gaming desktops and both Alienware m-series and x-series gaming laptops. You don't need a Prime membership or anything to take advantage of these deals, either. Check out all of the deals below, and we'll keep adding to the list as we find more.

Prime Day Alienware Gaming PC Deals

A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis

The R16 is Alienware's current 2024 desktop PC design. It's 40% smaller in volume compared to previous iterations. It features a simple yet proven airflow pattern; air is drawn in through the side intake vents over the GPU area and a 120mm fan at the front of the case, and exhausts by way of a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. A 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. Some configurations don't actually include the liquid cooling system, but we rarely include them in this roundup. That's because Alienware's liquid cooling solution is far superior to their stock air cooling and is easily worth the price premium.

Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4070 Ti Super Gaming PC

Good for 1440p and 4K gaming

Amazon's own Prime Day Sale has been pretty lackluster in terms of gaming PC deals, but fortunately there's an incredible deal going on right now at Dell. The Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4070 Ti Super gaming PC has dropped $600 to $1,399.99. This is the lowest price we've seen for an RTX 4070 Ti gaming PC from any brand and probably the best gaming PC deal we've seen for Prime Day. This gaming rig is more than powerful enough to handle gaming in 1440p or 4K at a solid 60fps even with the newest, most demanding titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2.

Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4080 Super Gaming PC

Good for 4K gaming

The Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC features an Intel Core i9-14900F CPU and RTX 4080 Super GPU for $2,199.99 after a $600 instant discount. The RTX 4080 Super is also a second generation RTX 40 series GPU that's about 5-10% more powerful than the RTX 4080. This is Nvidia's second-most powerful GPU and can handle any game in 4K at high frame rates, even with ray tracing enabled. Check out our RTX 4080 Super review for more details.

Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4090 Gaming PC

Good for 4K gaming

The Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC features an Intel Core i7-14700F CPU, RTX 4090 GPU, and an extremely generous 64GB of RAM and 2TB SSD for $2999.99 after a $1,000 instant discount. The RTX 4090 is by far the most powerful GPU on the market – Nvidia, AMD, or otherwise – and if you wanted to buy this video card by itself, it would run you more than $1,600. This desktop configuration will obviously run any game you want in 4K at high frame rates, even with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled. Check out our RTX 4090 review.

Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 4060 Ti Gaming PC

Good for 1080p and 1440p gaming

The Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC features a Intel Core i7-14700F CPU and RTX 4060 Ti GPU for only $1,299.99 after a $300 instant discount. The RTX 4060 Ti video card is a very good option for 1080p gaming at high frame rates. It's also the minimum Nvidia GPU we'd recommend for 1440p gaming, although you'll see noticeable gains by jumping to an RTX 4070 Ti Super, especially when it's currently priced at only $200 more.

Alienware m16 R2 16" Gaming Laptop

The Alienware m16 R2 gaming laptop features the new Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU and RTX 4060 GPU for $1,399.99 after a $300 instant discount. The new "R2" model is lighter and slimmer than the previous generation's "R1." Additionally, the m16 R2 is now equipped with low voltage Intel Meteor Lake CPUs for less power draw and thus less heat and noise.

The RTX 4060 sits between the RTX 3070 and the RTX 3070 Ti, so it's definitely no slouch in terms of gaming performance. The RTX 4060 has the maximum 140W TGP (115W + 25W Dynamic Boost) supplied to it, so this is a top-performing laptop compared to other brands. You'll need this kind of power to run games on the display's upgraded QHD+ resolution.

Alienware m18 R2 18" Gaming Laptop

The Alienware m18 "R2" model was released in January of 2024; this is Dell's highest-end gaming laptop and is intended to be more of a mobile desktop replacement than an actual everyday portable laptop. When equipped with the right components, it performs better in games than most desktop PCs.

There are two options available: an RTX 4080 GPU and an RTX 4090 GPU model. The RTX 4080 mobile GPU performs about 20-35% faster than the RTX 3080 Ti mobile. Compared to desktop variants, the mobile RTX 4080 approaches a performance level similar to the desktop RTX 3070 Ti. The RTX 4090 is still the most powerful mobile GPU on the market, and by a very substantial margin. It's roughly equivalent to a desktop RTX 3090 GPU.

Alienware x16 R2 Slim Gaming Laptop

The Alienware x-series laptops are one of the most portable gaming laptops around, with the 16" model measuring in at 0.73" at its thinnest point and weighing less than 6 pounds. There are two options: an RTX 4080 GPU and an RTX 4090 GPU model. Despite the slimmer size, both GPUs are supplied with the max 175W TGP (150W + 25W Dynamic Boost), meaning they'll perform on par with the highest end full-sized gaming laptops like Alienware's m-series siblings.

Dell G-Series Gaming Laptops

Dell has dropped the prices on both the Dell G16 and Dell G15 gaming laptops. Dells G-series laptops are great options for budget gamers. They offer excellent gaming performance equal to a comparably equipped Alienware laptop but at a much lower price point. They also have better build quality than Dell's consumer-oriented Inspiron lineup, with nicer materials that include anodized aluminum, and an aggressive cooling design borrowed from Alienware laptops.

32" Alienware AW3225QF 4K OLED Monitor

Dell is taking $200 off the new-for-2024 Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K QD OLED gaming monitor, dropping the price to $999.99. This is one of the very few 4K OLED gaming monitors under 42" on the market, and at this price it's also the least expensive. If you're looking for the best gaming monitor for 2024, this should definitely be on your short list.

Why Pick a Dell or Alienware Gaming PC?

If you're in the market for a prebuilt gaming PC, Dell is one of best gaming brands we'd recommend. The Alienware gaming desktops offer a staggering array of options, all built into a custom chassis. Alienware gaming laptops in recent years have been redesigned to be thinner and lighter while still offering the same immense power under the hood. Consistent build quality, available inventory, frequent sales, and solid customer service are the main reasons why Dell is at the top of our buying list for gaming laptops and PCs.

Should You Wait for Black Friday?

In most cases, we would say that Black Friday has the best deals of the year. Dell, however, is quite the opposite. Historically, Black Friday hasn't always been the best time to buy an Alienware computer. The best time of year to score Dell deals are usually Memorial Day and during September and October, right after the back-to-school rush but about a month before actual Black Friday. Either way, the deals that are going on right now are quite good. Some of them are the best prices of the year (like the RTX 4070 Ti PC) and some are not.
