A brand-new State of Play has arrived and it gave us an exciting look at the future of PS5 with a ton of games. Alongside an exciting look at Saros, Housemarque's next game of Returnal, we also got new trailers and release dates for Borderlands 4, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and much more.

There were big reveals like Days Gone Remastered, a new look at Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a new Dynasty Warriors spin-off that's out today, a look at WWE 2K25's The Island, a new Shinobi game, and so much more.

Saros Is Housemarque's Next Game After Returnal

Saros is Housemarque's next game after Returnal and it's set to arrive on PS5 in 2026. While it looks a lot like Returnal, it looks to be a new game set on the planet of Carcosa that is "under the threat of an ominous eclipse." Players will take on the role of Arjun Devraj (Rahul Kohli), who is a "powerful Soltari Enforcer searching for answers on a lost off-world colony."

There will be "permanent progression systems," and "every death reshapes the world while offering new upgrades to overcome challenges."

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Release Date Finally Confirmed — Officially This Time

Alongside a new gameplay trailer, Konami has confirmed Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be released on August 28, 2025. There will also be an Ape Escape collaboration and potentially more crossovers yet to be revealed.

Borderlands 4 Release Date Confirmed

Borderlands 4 will officially be released on September 23, 2025. To celebrate the release date, Gearbox shared a brand-new gameplay trailer that gives another look at the much-anticipated sequel. Furthermore, there will be a Borderlands 4-themed State of Play arriving later this spring.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword New Trailer Shows Off New Gameplay, Protagonist

While Onimusha: Way of the Sword won't be released until 2026, Capcom stopped by the State of the Play to help with the wait with a new gameplay trailer that shows off the game's new protagonist, the historic swordsman Miyamoto Musashi.

Single-Player Action Game Tides of Annihilation Revealed During Sony’s State of Play 2025

Tides of Annihilation was one of the big surprises of the show and looks like a beautiful single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure game that combines "intense, breakneck combat, an immersive narrative, and an unforgettable setting."

Tides of Annihilation takes place in modern London that has been taken over by otherworldly forces. Players will take on the role of Gwendolyn and will be able to call in the Knights of the Round Table to help her in combat. Oh, and they'll get to fight bosses as big as skyscrapers.

Days Gone Remastered Will Bring You Back to Its Freaker-Filled World This April

Days Gone is riding its way to PS5 on April 25, 2025, and will bring with it VRR and PS5 Pro support, permadeath and speedrun modes, an enhanced photo mode, additional accessibility features, and even a Horde Assault mode that will have Deacon St. John taking on even more Freakers that usual.

Players who already own the PS4 version of Days Gone will be able to upgrade to this new version for $10.

Sony Announces PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for February 2025

The State of Play revealed that February's PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions will feature Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, TopSpin 2K25, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 1, and more. We also got a look at some new indie games headed to the service in the future, including Blue Prince and Abiotic Factor.

Leslie Benzies' MindsEye Gets a Gameplay Trailer and a Summer 2025 Release Window

Former lead GTA series developer Leslie Benzies' MindsEye took the spotlight during the State of Play with gameplay and cinematic trailers alongside a Summer 2025 release window.

MindsEye stars Jacob Diaz, a former soldier who is haunted by a covert mission gone wrong and, to make matters worse, he has a mysterious neural implant called a MindsEye that plagues him with "fragmented memories and is desperate to uncover the truth about his past."

MindsEye takes place in Redrock, a place where AI, robotics, and neural implants have changed society for both the good and the bad. Players will be able to experience action on foot, in cars, and even in the sky as they uncover more about Jacob's story.

Warriors: Abyss Is a New Roguelite Launching Today on PS5 and PS4

Dynasty Warriors is getting a roguelite spin-off called Warriors: Abyss that will be released today on both PS5 and PS4. There will be randomly generated stages and items, choices that will make you stronger, and so much more.

In this game that will combine the "exhilirating feeling of 1 vs. 1,000 action with roguelite elements," there will be over 100 unique characters and over "16 billion combinations" of ways to play by choosing seven of 100 characters each run.

First Look at Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Gameplay at Sony State of Play 2025

A new trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has revealed much more gameplay for the upcoming racing game that is racing to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. One of the most exciting parts of the trailer was a look at how portals will take racers to different worlds in an instant.

Stellar Blade Gets Nikke Crossover DLC and PC Port Release Window

Stellar Blade is getting a crossover with Goddess of Victory: Nikke in the form of a themed boss, a new outfit, collectible dolls and sticks, and more. It is set to be released in June 2025.

Metal Eden Is an 'Adrenaline Rush Sci-Fi FPS' Headed to PS5 on May 6

Metal Eden is described as an "adrenaline rush sci-fi FPS" and players will be able to find out exactly what that means when it is released on PS5 on May 6, 2025. One of the most unique mechanics of Metal Eden is known as Core Ripping and allows players to use a Multitool to use its Gravity Beam to rip Cores from enemies in you way. You can then throw those cores and create a nice little explosion. You can also choose to consume the core, which could improve your melee attacks, mobility, and survivability.

Lost Soul Aside Finally Gets a Release Date, New Gameplay Trailer Reveals

Lost Soul Aside recieved a new gameplay and story trailer alongside a release date of May 30, 2025, on PS5 and PC. Lost Soul Aside started as a "one-person dream" from Yang Bing and it has now "evolved into a sprawling adventure full of breathtaking visuals and adrenaline-pumping combat."

The Next PixelJunk Series Is Called Dreams of Another and It Will Be Out in 2025

Dreams of Another is the next PixelJunk adventure and it will be released on PS5 and PS VR2 in 2025. This game sees players exploring an "ethereal, impressionistic dreamscape in which you shoot to create." Dreams of Another is built around the theme that "no creation without destruction" and is centered around The Man in Pajamas and The Wandering Soldier.

Darwin's Paradox Follows an Octopus Who Finds Himself in a Food Factory

The action-adventure, story-based platformer Darwin's Paradox is aiming to let players "truly understand what it feels like to be an octopus." Darwin can climb, camouflage himself, and shoot ink with the added benefit of feeling the actions come to life on the DualSense.
