Save 43% Off the Massive 4,049-Piece LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster During the Walmart Black Friday Sale
The LEGO Marvel Captain America Shield is also on sale.
As part of its early Black Friday Sale, Walmart has slashed the price of the LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster 76210 down to only $315 shipped. That's 43% off its original launch price of $550 and Walmart is currently the only retailer who's selling it at this deep of a discount. You're paying bout 8 cents per brick, which is a great value for an officially licensed LEGO Marvel themed set. The Hulkbuster 76210 happens to be the second largest LEGO Marvel set ever with a total of 4,049 bricks.
LEGO Marvel Hulkbuster 76210
The Marvel Hulkbuster 76210 is modeled after the Hulkbuster that Iron Man uses against the Hulk from Avengers: Age of Ultron. This set is almost always on sale at a pretty hefty discount (although not as low as this deal). To put it honestly, the Hulkbuster in its stock form isn't a very faithful representation of the Hulkbuster from the movie. The biggest culprit is the ungainly proportion; the Hulkbuster's torso looks comically oversized compared to its tiny head and spindly arms because the designers wanted enough space to fit the Iron Man 76206 figure inside (which isn't included and is a retired set that can't be purchased anymore). The arms don't articulate very well and has very limited poseability options. The legs are too unwieldy to properly support the top-heavy torso so the finished structure feels more wobbly than it should. For a very pricey $550 set, the problems are hard to overlook.
Fortunately, There's an Awesome MOC Solution
"MOC" stands for "my original creation". MOCs are fan-made LEGO blueprints that are often better than the originals. Designer Ransom_Fern has created one MOC that is an excellent revision of the Hulkbuster 76210 and uses the same LEGO pieces that come with the set. The alt build is a more faithful and structurally sound design than the original Hulkbuster. The torso is much more accurately proportioned, the head isn't as recessed, the arms and legs look more imposing, and the finished build is more stable. Rebrickables sells the PDF build instructions for $20 but this is absolutely worth getting if you decide to go ahead with the Hulkbuster build.
Note that with this MOC build, you can no longer fit the Iron Man 76206 figure inside. That shouldn't matter to most of you since it is nearly impossible to get one. You can, however, easily fit the Tony Start minifig that's included in the box.
Another Awesome Marvel Set Is on Sale
Walmart and Amazon have also discounted the LEGO Marvel Captain America’s Shield 76262 down to $140 after a 30% price drop. This 3,128 piece set is nearly as big as the Hulkbuster, and they would look pretty amazing when displayed side by side. At this price, you're paying only 4.4 cents per brick, which means it's an even better value compared to the Hulkbuster. A matching Captain America minifig complete with his own mini-shield and Thor's Mjolnir is also included.

Should You Buy Now or Wait for Black Friday?
At this point, Black Friday is only a few weeks away and in most cases it's better to wait. However, pricier LEGO sets are an exception. Often times you'll see a specific set go on sale before Black Friday and then go out of stock quickly, never to be seen again. If LEGO Marvel sets aren't your preferred theme, here are a list of other LEGO sets we hope to go on sale.
