65" LG Evo C4 4K OLED Smart TV
Ahead of Labor Day, you can save $1100 off the 2024 65" LG Evo C4 4K OLED TV. It's normally priced at $2700, but right now Amazon has it for $1596.99. The LG Evo C4 is an outstanding TV that has won top spots in several of our buying guides, including best overall 4K TV, best TV for gaming, and best PS5 TV.
65" TCL QM7 4K Mini-LED Smart TV
The TCL QM7 is a new 2024 model and it is the least expensive TV from TCL that we'd recommend for gamers. That's because it is equipped with a native 120Hz refresh rate and HDMI 2.1 inputs that support 4K @ 120fps gaming on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles. New for 2024, this is also the least expensive TCL model that features a quantum dot Mini-LED panel. Its predecessor - the 2023 TCL Q7 - did not have a Mini-LED panel. Mini LEDs offer even more precise local dimming than standard LEDs because the zones are smaller and more numerous. That directly equates to better picture quality, especially in difficult scenes with simultaneous bright lighting and darks shadows.
65" Hisense A6N 4K Smart TV
Walmart is offering a pretty massive 65" 4K TV for under $300 with free shipping. The Hisense A6N is a new model for 2024 with some software updates like an improved 4K AI upscaler and an AI Sports mode. Although the refresh rate is capped at 60Hz, the A6N features a "Game Plus" mode that lowers input lag and supports variable refresh rate when it detects that you're playing games. It's also equipped with the latest Google TV smart interface.
85" TCL Q65 4K QLED Smart TV
If you want the biggest screen size possible for under $1K, look no further than the 85" TCL Q6 series TV on sale on Amazon for $899.99. That's over 40% off its original $1700 MSRP. This is a new 2024 model and it features a QLED Pro panel for brighter, richer colors and a native 120Hz panel with HDMI 2.1 inputs that support up to 144Hz variable refresh rate for smooth gaming on your PS5 or Xbox Series X console.
48" LG B4 4K OLED Smart TV
Best Buy has discounted the newest 48" LG B4 4K OLED Smart TV to $749.99. That's 50% off the $1500 MSRP and a great price for a current gen LG OLED TV. Given the fact that this is one of the smaller LG OLED TVs on the market, it can also double as an outstanding gaming monitor. The LG B4 OLED TV is less expensive than the C4, but it's still an excellent TV for PS5 and Xbox Series X gamers and is our overall favorite budget OLED TV. That's because this is a 2024 model true 4K OLED TV with HDMI 2.1 inputs for native 4K gaming at up to 120Hz refresh rate. In fact, the B4 now has four HDMI 2.1 inputs compared to the two HDMI 2.1 inputs found on the 2023 B3 model. This is also the first year that the LG B-series OLED TV has a smaller 48" size. That's great for us PC gamers who want to use this as a big gaming monitor, because that means we don't need to spend extra on a 48" C4 model, which currently costs $500 more.
43" Pioneer Xumo 4K Smart TV
Need an inexpensive TV that gets the job done? Look no further than this 43" Pioneer Xumo TV, which marries the rare combination of a smaller 43" display with a native 4K resolution panel. It has built-in speakers and also features a Xumo TV smart interface, so you can start downloading apps and streaming your favorite movies and shows from the get-go without having to go out and buy anything else. It's a great affordable option from the Best Buy Labor Day sale.
Is Labor Day a Good Time to Buy a New TV?
In general, the holiday season - Black Friday in particular - is the easiest time to find great deals on TVs. Besides the fact that deals in general are most plentiful in November, at around this time manufacturers are trying to unload current year models to make way for next year's releases. Lately, Amazon Prime Day, which takes place sometime in July, has also become a lesser source of reliable TV deals. With all that said, there are always good TV deals to be had and, although the selection might not be as abundant as in November or December, with enough patience and a little bit of elbow grease you should be able to find a TV that satisfies your budget year-round, even on Labor Day. So all-in-all, with the discounts we've highlighted, Labor Day weekend is generally a good time to buy a TV in 2024.
